There Is Magic In The Details: Vintage Kitchen Decor
It's 2026. Are you in love with your kitchen?
If you're at all like me...you spend quite a bit of time in the zone of your kitchen. You start the day there and more than likely you end the day there. Meals, whether it's chosen from a takeout menu or you prepared a meal with your own two hands are shared.
Regardless of how much time you actually spend in your kitchen...I think that a space that feels warm and nurturing is important for most of us.
But what makes that kitchen feel warm and nurturing is different for everyone.
The one thing that seems to be common these days is the addition of vintage in the kitchen space. It seems like almost everyone is adding a touch of character to their homes and the kitchen is a welcoming space for it.
For some it's the addition of a vintage or antique piece of furniture. For others it can be a few or a lot of chosen art or decor for their open wall space. Maybe you like to collect a certain color of pottery or glassware.
The options are endless when it comes to vintage...and the style becomes your own "one of a kind" space with these chosen pieces.
Vintage chairs are always fun to add to a kitchen table or maybe flanked on a wall next to a cabinet. These 1960's ladderback Thomasville chairs could tie in nicely to a cottage or traditional style dining/kitchen area. Add these to a minimalist styled home for a touch of warm wood and craftsmanship that is not overly complicated.
How about some vintage lighting to adorn your kitchen? This marble lamp is a classic and fits any style. Add it to a countertop or maybe a corner table that needs a little light.
With this season's hottest trends showing influences ranging from art deco to afrohemian we can't help but start running wild with ideas!
Does this vintage stained glass window speak to you? It's got patina and the lamp plus hanging plant combo is the perfect bohemian mood. Spoiler...this is from my own kitchen:)
We remodeled the kitchen in our now small farmhousey, cottage, bungalow styled home when we moved in almost 8 years ago and this was the addition that really created the soul of this space for me. I kept the original patina around the window...I wanted it to "feel" old.

As you can probably tell...plants are a big part of my personal decor. Here is a peek at the vintage cabinet at the end of our dining table. I love this vintage Hollywood Regency splash of decor in my space.
I added a sink that feels old style with tile that looks like weathered wood to keep the mood feeling like it's from another time.

Another view of my kitchen window....it makes me happy everytime I look at it.
I think it's time to create a vintage meets modern style kitchen category for the website!
